40 years of Settle to Carlisle Railway Photos

Collectablesmegastore have been busy sorting boxes and collating old black and white photos taken along the Settle to Carlisle railway line during the 1980s. Documenting a little piece of history for anyone to own themselves for only a few pound plus postage. Ideal for the railway enthusiast, historical society talks and to frame as gifts. Forty years on and these photos have not lost any of their appeal or charm. Original photos taken by W A Sharman and used in various railway books through the years. Some have the details written on the reverse along with a signature and many have information labels detailing the photographic location, date taken, full description of train or locomotive identified in the photo and accreditation.

For those of our collectors who are not familiar with the Settle to Carlisle line it runs for 73 miles along the main railway line in the North of England. Taking in some dramatic landscapes and very scenic views in the North Pennines and the Yorkshire Dales. The line runs from Settle Junction, along the Leeds to Morcambe railway line and up to Carlisle. Carlise is a lovely border City 10 miles south of the Scottish Border. The County Town of Cumbria is placed in the North West of England and located where the rivers Eden, Caldew and Petteril all meet up.
